Super Bowl Recap

Super Bowl Recap

As the highly anticipated Super Bowl 50 came to a close just less than 24 hours ago, millions of viewers were left with the feeling of dissatisfaction. The two best defenses in the NFL displayed their dominance, and the more thrilling offensive plays that many look forward to in a super bowl were completely drowned out. The game consisted of countless turnovers, and the offensives headed by Cam and Peyton never really settled in for any respectable drives.

Although Peyton was able to obtain the fairy tale ending (that so many wanted for him going into retirement), many feel their win was a result of solely the amazing Broncos defense.

The much deserved MVP, Von Miller, was the definite difference maker in the game, with not one, but two strip sacks on a Cam Newton that didn’t look himself at any point during the game. Some believe the reason for Cam’s extremely sub par performance was due to the Broncos relentless defense, yet others believe that the regular season MVP simply faded away and got nervous when the stakes were at their all time high.

Overall, although it was a relatively uneventful Super Bowl in terms of actual football in comparison to past years, it was still, and forever will be one of the most anticipated and all around best sporting events in sports history. No other championship can, and ever will be, able to draw millions of viewers solely off commercials and the halftime show. For this reason, even if the game of football does not interest you in the slightest, the Super Bowl will continue to be a must watch event in just about every household in America year after year.
